The School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences is an academic unit tasked with educating health and allied healthcare providers at all levels — from certificate and diploma to bachelor and postgraduate degrees.
Our aim is to produce comprehensive healthcare professionals who are knowledgeable, competent, skilful and up-to-date, following evidence-based procedures and ethical guidelines.
Institutional Objectives
- Train general duty medical doctors with broad knowledge of common human diseases, particularly tropical diseases
- Produce doctors with skills to manage and deliver preventive and curative health services
- Develop entrepreneurial competencies through critical thinking and problem-solving
- Develop training and research capacity
- Promote ethical medical practice
- Develop ICT skills for training lower-cadre health practitioners in remote areas
